FAQS - Health Coaching

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Answers to frequently asked questions about Kay Chung’s health coaching services.

Q. Do you offer an initial free consultation?

A. Yes, Kay offers a complimentary, no-obligation 30-minute phone consultation to discuss your goals and determine whether Kay’s services will meet your needs.

Q. Do you offer single appointments?

A. While single appointments are available at a higher hourly rate, we recommend the starter package of four visits as the most effective way to work together. We explore your medical history and goals in your initial visit. We review your progress and update your wellness plan in future visits.

Q. Do You Accept Health Insurance?

A. No. Traditional health insurance does not cover health coaching services. Health coaches do not hold a state license and are therefore not eligible to bill health insurance or get reimbursed through a health spending account or flexible spending account.

Q. Can I use my Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Spending Account (HSA) funds for my consultation services or to purchase supplements or lab tests?

A. Possibly. Some clients have gotten reimbursed for recommended supplements and lab tests through their HSA/FSA. However, each FSA/HSA account is unique. Contact your FSA or HSA administrator to find out what your plan will cover.

Q. Can You Help Me Lose Weight?

A. Yes. I have helped many people lose weight. My philosophy about weight loss is that it is a by-product of health. Weight loss often follows as we rebalance your body and help you loosen any ties between feeling and experiencing emotions and making food choices. A singular focus on weight loss is rarely sustainable.
